Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using Whittle ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. What Whittle is

Whittle is a personal productivity aid that connects to sources you choose (such as Canvas, Google Calendar, and Gmail) and summarizes them into a short list of suggested actions. It is a convenience tool, not a system of record.

3. Your responsibilities

• You must own, or be authorized to use, the accounts and credentials you connect.
• You are responsible for complying with the terms of the third-party services you connect (Canvas, Google, and others).
• You must not use the Service to access data you are not entitled to, or in any unlawful way.

4. Third-party services

Whittle relies on third-party services including Canvas, Google (OAuth and the Gemini API), Vercel, and Upstash. Your use of those services through Whittle is also governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for those services' availability or actions.

5. No reliance for critical deadlines

Whittle summarizes and prioritizes items using automated systems, which can make mistakes, omit items, or misinterpret dates. It is provided to assist you, not replace your own judgment. Do not rely on Whittle as the sole source for important deadlines or obligations; always verify against the original source.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or accurate.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Whittle and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, missed deadlines, or lost opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your data at any time by disconnecting your sources or wiping your data within the app. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
